Jean Patricia Monroe joined BIG in 1997. Jean was an active and devoted member of the Carl T. Rowan Chapter, Region XI. During her lengthy illness her passion for BIG remained strong by renewing her membership and always planning to attend the BIG Annual National Training Conference and other BIG Activities, though knowing in the end that she could not.

Jean worked for 36 years for the U.S. Information Agency and the U.S. Department of State. She has received numerous awards and citations.
